About
The most used camping app in the store
Are you travelling with your (own) mobile home or van as a passionate camper and don’t feel like staying at overcrowded campsites? roadsurfer spots helps people find great campsites. The app gives you access to beautiful, unusual and remote places to stay overnight – always sustainable and individually selected. Whether at the winegrower, on the farm, in the forest, on the beach, in the city or on a private property by the lake.
Conception
The timeline for the project was intense: the goal was to build a market-ready application before the camping season starts – that was in only 4 months. Many thousands of users would use the products once it’s live – so we definitely didn’t want to compromise on quality to meet this deadline. That was a challenge, and we are happy to confirm that we successfully pulled it off!
Process
We designed and developed the mobile apps for Android and iOS. Agile sprints and the getting-things-done attitude of everyone involved enabled the fast development pace and the resulting high product quality. To make the project an all-round success, we consulted roadsurfer regarding marketing, app analytics, product features, and more generally: what makes an app thrive on the market.
Result
The result is a beautiful app whose quality and functionality is reflected in the many downloads and great reviews. The app counts hundreds of thousands of active users, and numbers continue to grow as the app ranks in the app charts. In the meantime, more than 1,500 campsites with more than 10,000 overnight accommodations throughout Europe are listed.

Feedback
Markus Dickhardt, Managing Director of Roadsurfer, confirms the smooth collaboration between our companies: “The collaboration with QuickBird Studios was excellent. We didn’t expect to get such a high quality product given our very tight deadline. I would especially like to highlight the great reachability of the team and the speed of implementation throughout the project. Also very valuable was the sound input from QuickBird Studios, which was always proactively brought in and significantly improved the product.”
Future
After the first version was completed, we worked closely together to conceptualize and develop new features and improvements of the app. Since then, we have been taking care of all new releases, maintenance, technical support and managing the app store account. We really enjoyed working with our Munich colleagues at roadsurfer and look forward to upcoming app features. Stay tuned!
